Zain and Rama Rahimtula, a husband-and-wife duo, are the founders of Imli Sarai. They met at Swaraj University, a Gandhian-inspired initiative that encourages young people to discover their passions, pursue unconventional learning, and create enterprises that benefit the community and environment.Consequently, Imli Sarai is more than just a restaurant; it embodies a commitment to environmental sustainability and food waste management, with a team that functions like a family.

Zain Rahimtula, co-owner and a chef, has trained at the International Culinary Centre in New York and worked at renowned restaurants across the world like Diva and Blue Hill. His education in Development Studies and the Study of Religions at SOAS University, London, along with his experience at Swaraj University, inspired his fusion of cuisine and environmental consciousness, leading to the creation of Imli Sarai’s farm-to-table concept.Rama Rahimtula, the other co-owner of Imli Sarai, brings her passion for interior design to create the restaurant's unique ambiance. She also leads an NGO, Happiness Udaipur, which focuses on making various groups, such as rag-picking children and domestic violence survivors, happy through meaningful engagement rather than mere service.With chefs crafting exceptional dishes and service staff ensuring a great experience with top hygiene, their dedication brings Imli Sarai’s vision to life.
